How to test Intake Air Flow Meter/Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAF) 2003-2008 Toyota Matrix Corolla



a.Check the operation.

1.Apply battery voltage across terminals 1 (+B) and 2 (E2G).
2.Using a voltmeter, connect the positive (+) tester prove to terminal 3 (VG) and the negative (-) tester prove to terminal 2 (E2G).
3.Blow air into the mass air flow meter, then check that the voltage fluctuates. If the voltage does not fluctuate, replace the mass air flow meter.



  1. Check the resistance.   
  2. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals.








Standard:

If the result is not as specified, replace the mass air flow meter.

Guide to remove starter motor, 2005 Chevy Classic 2.2L engine 4 Cylinder

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable
  2. Raise and support the vehicle 

  1. Disconnect the electrical connectors (3,4,5) from the starter

  1. Remove the starter bolts.
  2. Remove the starter.

How to replace install throttle body 2007 Suzuki Reno L4-2.0L, DTC 2135

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Disconnect the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor connector.
  3. Disconnect the breather hose from the valve cover.


  1. Remove the air intake tube.
  2. Disconnect the vacuum hoses from the throttle body.
  3. Disconnect the Electric Throttle Control (ETC) connectors.
  4. Disconnect the coolant hoses from the throttle body
  5. Remove the throttle body retaining nuts.



Installation
CAUTION:
Use care in cleaning old gasket material from machined aluminum surfaces. Sharp tools may damage sealing surfaces.
  1. Clean the gasket mating surface on the intake manifold.
  2. Clean the throttle body.
  3. Install the throttle body assembly with a new gasket to the intake manifold.
  4. Install the throttle body retaining nuts. Tighten: Tighten the throttle body retaining nuts to 10 Nm (89 in. lbs.) . **if no torque wrench. tighten, then turn a quarter more turn** 
  5. Connect the ETC connector.
  6. Connect the coolant hoses to the throttle body.
  7. Connect the vacuum hoses to the throttle body.
  8. Install the air intake tube.
  9. Connect the breather hose to the valve cover.
  10. Connect the IAT sensor connector.
  11. Connect the negative battery cable
  12. Fill the coolant to cooling system

2008 Toyota Prius, Bleed screw on top of radiator

Remove the 6 clips and radiator support opening cover

Using a 6 mm socket hexagon wrench, loosen the radiator bleeder plug from the radiator support service hole. Run car, use a small hose leading to reservoir, when coolant comes out and does not have bubbles, close it.

You would have to remove the starter from the bottom. Remove from passenger side axle.

2005 Scion XB Drive belt replacement


  1. REMOVE FAN AND GENERATOR V-BELT
    1. Loosen bolts A and B.
    2. Release the V-ribbed belt tension and remove the V-ribbed belt.
  1. REMOVE RF WHEEL AND REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER RH



  1. REMOVE VANE PUMP V-BELT
    1. Loosen bolts A and B.
    2. Release the V-ribbed belt tension, and remove the V-ribbed belt.
  1. INSTALL VANE PUMP V-BELT
    1. Temporarily install the V-ribbed belt on each pulley.
  1. INSTALL FAN AND GENERATOR V-BELT
    1. Temporarily install the V-ribbed belt on each pulley.
  1. ADJUST FAN AND GENERATOR V-BELT
    1. Insert the adjusting bar between the engine RH mount bracket and generator. Push the bar towards the vehicle front to adjust the V-ribbed belt tension. NOTICE: Do not insert the bar between the oil control valve and generator. It could damage the oil control valve.
TIP:  IF YOUR THE DRIVE BELT SQUEALS AND/OR VIBRATES. IT IS TOO LOSE. TIGHTEN BUT NOT TOO TIGHT.
